Fastnet Arcsine Package August 2011
Yachting Experiences Ltd
The famous Fastnet race takes place every other year - a race of over 600 nm from Cowes to Plymouth via the Fastnet Rock, off south-west Ireland.
2011 is a Fastnet year.
Arcsine, a 37 foot Arcona 370, will be entered on a book-a-berth basis, to work alongside regular crew.

The race starts from Cowes on Sunday morning, immediately after the end of Cowes Week. It finishes in Plymouth after several days of non-stop competitive racing - how many days depends, of course, on the winds. Then there is the small matter of the 120 miles back from the finish to the Solent. The whole trip should take 8 days.
For a race of this kind it is essential that the crews are in good health, thoroughly trained in safe, efficient operation of the yacht and accustomed to the rigours of ocean racing. The rules require that in the 12 months preceding the start the skipper and at least half the crew must have completed 300 miles of RORC offshore racing in the yacht they are using for the Fastnet. In practice this means that the crew will need to do four other RORC races during the summer on Arcsine.
We hope to have a nucleus of regular racing crew with Arcsine taking part in the RORC qualifying races as well as races in the JOG series etc. Places will be available on all of these events. Our policy is that all crew members should have training before this most gruelling of races.
I have skipper in three previous Fastnets including winning the 2-Handed Division in 2003.
It is therefore important to tailor the package to each individual so if this challenge interests you please contact me as soon as possible.
