2010 RYA Shore-based Classes for Sail & Power South East London
Basic Navigation & Safety New RYA Course from September (see stop press)
16 hours be arrangement   Fees £ 95.00
Competent crew / Day Skipper // Watch-leader (part 1)start Oct 2010 an elementary course in basic seamanship, navigation & meteorology, suitable for beginners & people with little experience in cruising yachts or motor cruisers.     Fees £ 220.00

Coastal Skipper / Yacht-master (part 2) 7/10/10
A more advanced course in navigation and meteorology suitable for students who have already completed the elementary course, or who have a background of sailing, motor cruising or offshore racing experience. The course is definitely not suitable for beginners           Fees £ 250.00 (provisional)

General; course will start early October and aim to finish for Easter 2011 will be one evening a week (part 1 Tue, part 2 Wed, ) 7.00-9.30 plus an intensive one or two day at a weekend sessions  TBA.

RYA Short courses
RYA Diesel Engine (certificated)
One day by arrangement.
This course covers the basic function of a Diesel Engine in order to give you an understanding sufficient to apply
First Aid to you engine

RYA First Aid (certificated)
(one day or 3 evenings)
A basic first aid course aimed at people on and around the water. Covers Life support CPR to Hypothermia

RYA VHF Radio (SRC) (certificated)
(one day or 3 evenings)
This course covers how to use a VHF Radio what and what not to do, voice procedures and emergency DSC workings & the Global Maritime Distress Safety System.
Includes the test and licence requirements

Boat Electrics (not RYA)
A look at the 12 v DC system. From generator to battery to instruments & starter motor.
Checking voltage, fuses, continuity & loads
